THEME : THE STORY OF THE ARII POMARE WHO MEETS UP WITH MANOTAHI BEFORE THE FEIPI WAR
This year Tamarii Manotahi wishes through its ruau to recount the story of the post-confrontation between the partisans of Pomare with the help of the missionaries and the clans of Teoropaa and Teva. It took place on the lands of Atehuru where the aito Opuhara got killed. After that, peace was made so that the project of christianizing the population could succeed.
Tamarii Manotahi highlighted the desire of the new King to meet and gather the population in Tefana, Manotahi, and Manorua without forgetting the Teva clan and all the way to Matahihae on the side of Hui. He also wanted to let them know that he had the supreme authority over Tahiti and its dependencies.
For his Tarava Raromatai, the group wanted to highlight in its texts the old names of our lands, from the mountains to the sea and the point and the names of the former warriors of Manotahi, such as Pai, Temanu-tu -nuu, Puna, Pohuetea and especially the name of our Marae, which most of our young people and others do not know. Everyone is accustomed to say Nuuroa, but one should not forget that it used to bear the name of Atehuru, and Taputapuatea.
It is imperative that our future generations learn this.
